Work laying the track for the $1.3bn airport link from Forrestfield to Perth airport. Martinus Rail was awarded the contract to lay the track by WeBuild and NRW.

The track itself comes in 27.5m sections of which 8 are then welded together to form the final product to be installed. A total of 2400 tonnes of steel will be used to create 40km of track for each new tunnel.

With 1km of track already being laid since the completion of tunnelling earlier this year the project is on track to open in late 2021 with projections suggesting that the line will remove up to 15,000 vehicles a day off the road.
