AnsaldoBreda to supply Linate Airport rail cars

ITALY: AnsaldoBreda has been awarded a 250 million euro contract to supply 47 driverless metro trains for the M4 line in Milan.

The M4 Line will link the Milan Linate Airport with the San Cristoforo FS railway station, crossing the city centre from east to west, with 15 stations over 14.5 km.

The trains will be made up of four cars, capable to operate in both directions. The trains will be able to carry 600 passengers and operate with the maximum speed of 80 km/h.

The trains have been designed with a walk-through interiors, air conditioning and heating, fire detection, events static recorder and advanced communication systems.
